Terms of Use

Last updated: August 17, 2026

These terms govern your use of Backspace ("the app"). By using the app, you agree to these terms.

What the app does

Backspace helps you review and remove photos and videos from your device's Photos library to free up storage. All deletions go through Apple's native Photos deletion flow, which requires your explicit confirmation and places removed items in Recently Deleted for 30 days before they are permanently erased by iOS.

Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the decisions you make within the app about which photos and videos to keep or delete. Backspace shows you information (file sizes, dates, favorite status) to help you decide, but does not select or delete anything without your explicit action and Apple's system confirmation.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stefan Das is not liable for any loss of data, photos, or videos resulting from use of the app, including items deleted via the app that are no longer recoverable after Apple's 30-day Recently Deleted window has elapsed.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may update the app and these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
